Metlifecare Orion Point - Stage 4 of 5
This $60 million development comprises of two complementary buildings delivering integrated aged care and residential living.
Building A features a purpose-designed care facility with 47 care suites across a 5,300m² ground floor footprint. The facility is supported by basement car parking for 47 vehicles and a landscaped podium level incorporating a commercial kitchen and generous communal living spaces to enhance resident wellbeing.
Building B is a four-storey residential building providing 46 apartments, with a balanced mix of two- and three-bedroom layouts across a total area of 5,800m².
The project utilised a hybrid structural system combining extensive precast concrete elements—including precast panels, columns, stairs, flat slabs and balcony units. Its structural steel and in-situ concrete enable efficient construction sequencing and high-quality finishes.
Externally, the buildings are finished with a combination of Axon cladding, Sto plaster systems, and UltraClad, along with a Rooflogic warm roof system to ensure durability and performance.
A key innovation was the integration of prefabricated bathroom pods, installed during the structural phase to improve programme efficiency, quality control, and coordination across trades.
