The Stage 3 expansion at Ormiston Senior College is a significant addition to a rapidly growing senior-school campus, delivered by Watts & Hughes in close partnership with the Ministry of Education, the design team, and school leadership.

The project introduces a new three-storey teaching block on the northern edge of the site, adjacent to Ormiston Road, providing 18 General Teaching Spaces, an external stair, an enclosed link bridge to the existing buildings, and provision for future campus connections. A covered link walkway along the southern side of the block ensures seamless circulation between the new facility and the wider campus.

Working within a live school environment has required disciplined staging, daily coordination with school leadership, and a strong focus on predictable, safe operations. Regular site walks, structured communication channels, and opportunities for students to observe the construction process have supported broader outcomes and strengthened the school’s connection to the project.

The expansion is tracking well to programme, with the school expressing high confidence in the process and the emerging facility. Quality assurance and compliance have been central to delivery, supported by clear documentation, robust inspection regimes, and consistent engagement with the Ministry and design team.
