Freemans Bay School

Construction has begun to put Freemans Bay School at the forefront of modern learning. The new redevelopment will see the school almost entirely rebuilt.

Aged buildings, watertightness and asbestos issues have driven this redevelopment programme, where most of the existing classrooms were built in the 60’s and 70’s.

The redevelopment will consist of four new buildings, including a hall, an administration block, a library, and a two-storey learning block. The only building remaining will be a classroom block built in 2010.

During the construction phase, the school will be operational, and classrooms have been shifted around the school to accommodate construction. The school will cater for 600 pupils and allow future capacity for 1200.

Construction will be completed in two stages, and the final stage is scheduled to be finished in May 2018.
